What is Lead magnet?

A free, genuinely useful resource given in exchange for contact details: a guide, checklist, template, webinar or tool that starts the relationship.

What is Lead magnet?

A lead magnet is value traded for permission: the visitor gets something useful now, a price-list template, a checklist, a mini-course, a benchmark report, and you get their email address with consent to follow up. The exchange only works when the magnet is genuinely useful; a thin brochure disguised as a guide teaches people to ignore you.

The best magnets share properties: they solve one specific problem completely, they are fast to consume, and they naturally precede your paid offer, so the person who uses the magnet is exactly the person who needs the product. A webinar seat is a lead magnet with a date attached, which adds urgency a download lacks.

Why it matters

"Subscribe to our newsletter" converts almost nobody, because it offers the business's benefit, not the reader's. A strong lead magnet reverses that by leading with the reader's benefit, and it changes the economics of every campaign: the same ad spend produces several times more leads when the destination offers something worth trading an email address for.

How it works in Medivot

Medivot gives lead magnets a complete delivery path: build the capture page in the landing page builder (the template gallery has lead-capture pages ready), deliver the magnet by automated email, and watch each subscriber arrive in the CRM with the source recorded. A webinar works the same way when the magnet is an event.

Frequently asked questions

What are good lead magnet ideas?

Checklists, templates, calculators, short guides, price benchmarks, recorded trainings and free webinars, anything that solves one painful problem in under fifteen minutes of the reader's time. Mine your sales conversations: the question you answer every week is the magnet.

Does a lead magnet need to be free?

Yes in spirit: the price is the email address, not money. Charging even a small fee collapses volume. If you want revenue-qualified leads, use a low-cost tripwire deliberately, but call it an offer, not a magnet.
