What is Call to action?
The specific instruction that tells the reader what to do next: the button, link or line that turns interest into an action.
What is Call to action (CTA)?
A call to action, CTA, is the ask: "Book a free consultation", "Register for the webinar", "Download the price list". It is usually a button or link, but the principle is older than the web: every piece of marketing that works tells the audience what to do next, in words that make the next step obvious and low-risk.
Good CTAs share three traits: they are specific (what exactly happens when I click), honest about the commitment ("free", "2 minutes", "no card required" when true), and singular, because a page with three competing CTAs effectively has none. The weakest CTA in marketing is the implied one, where the reader must guess the next step.
Why it matters
Most marketing underperforms not because the offer is weak but because the ask is vague, buried or absent. A clear CTA is free to add and directly multiplies the value of everything above it on the page: the same copy with a strong CTA simply converts more of the attention it already earned.
How it works in Medivot
Every Medivot surface is built around a working CTA: landing pages track call-to-action clicks per page and variant, webinar registration pages put the register button beside seats and calendar links, and campaign emails carry one tracked primary button so click-through rate is measurable per send.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a good call to action?
Verb first, specific outcome, honest framing: "Get the checklist" beats "Submit", and "Book your free 20-minute consult" beats "Contact us". One CTA per page or email, repeated rather than multiplied, and placed where the reader has just been given a reason to act.
How many CTAs should a page have?
One goal, repeated. The same button can appear several times, after the hero, after the proof, at the end, but they should all point at the same action. Competing CTAs split attention and measurably lower conversion.
